The Organisation specialised and works in the following
/sectors:
Hardware
Specialised designing, construction and rehabilitation of community based
health infrastructure (dispensaries and medical staff houses) and in supply
of Medical equipment to the rehabilitated /newly build dispensaries.

Software
While in soft wear specialised in facilitation of health and provision
of health education through Community Based Health Community (CBHC) and
Child-to-Child techniques.

Water, Environmental
and sanitation
In this sector we also work in both hard and software as follows: -
In regards to water, we are specialised in designing and construction
of water infrastructure particularly shallow wells with hand pumps, rainwater-harvesting
tanks and in rehabilitation of the existing water piped schemes. On the
other hand the organisation is specialised in designing institutional
and household level.

Software
We provide management skills for community water users groups and association.
The organisation offers and facilitates the dissemination of education
messages on hygiene by using PHAST techniques.

Education
In this area the organisation also works in both hard and software. In
hardware we are involved in provision of classrooms and staff houses drawings,
construction of classrooms, teacher’s offices and houses, supporting
community in making and for school desks and furniture.
While in software the organisation train teachers on teaching approaches
using learner centred approach that facilitated through CtC methodologies.

Training and Capacity
Building
This involves Community mobilisation and awareness creation. Training
of village leaders and community based groups.

Documentation Centre
Documentation centre provides information and knows how and experiences
on rural development stakeholders

Organisational working
approaches and experience
HAPA uses Participatory Techniques such as PRA, Community Based Health
Care (CBHC) and Child-to-Child (CtC) approaches to facilitate community
own self – assessment of needs i.e. enable them identify their development
potential through problem-solving discussions concerning health, water
and educational issues all of which are key to villages well-being.
PRA is not only used for the community own assessment but has proven to
be powerful tool in awareness raising and in providing community motivation.
